PALS is a secure site connecting ACCD Faculty, Staff, & Students to Academic Resources, Email, & other Online Services. Students apply for admission, maintain personal information, register for classes, pay tuition by credit card. view class schedule, grades, holds, transcripts, credits toward graduation, and account summary. You can also review financial aid, accept or decline financial aid awards

Is my access to PALS Secure?

PALS uses frames to build pages & therefore you do not see the lock icon in the browser. However, PALS is secure.

This secure site allows you to check email, register for courses, communicate with other students and faculty, and take care of all aspects of college business.

If you're using Internet Explorer: Right click anywhere around the login username and password area and click Properties. Under Connection, you should find: SSL 3.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024 bit exchange.

If you're using Netscape browser: Right click anywhere around the login username and password area and click View Frame Info. Under Security, you should find: This is a secure document that uses a high-grade encryption key for U.S. domestic use only (RC4, 128 bit).

Email Disk Usage Policies

Maximum email size including attachments 3.8 mb
Maximum size of an email attachment 3 mb
Maximum number of attachments 5 mb
Additional external email accounts allowed 2
Max. disk space (student) email account 20 mb
Max. disk space (employee) email account 40 mb
Grace period for over quota email account before an email is returned to sender 3 Days
Email in Inbox folder will be purged after 21 Days
Email in Deleted folder will be purged after 7 Days
Over quota warning message when user reaches 90% of Space limit

Hours of Operation

PALS is unavailable from 3 am to 4 am, all week.

Administrative services such as (registration, class list, degree audit.) are available at the following times.

  • 7 am to 10 pm   Mon through Thursday
  • 7 am to  6  pm Friday
  • 8 am to  1  pm Saturday
  • & unavailable Sunday

Communication

WebCT Communication Tools

WebCT has several communication tools available. These include a Discussions tool and an internal Mail tool.

The discussions or bulletin board tool provides a means by which the students and the instructor can exchange messages. Any one in the class may post a message, which is then available to the rest of the class. Once a message has been posted, anyone in the class can post a reply to the message.  

Only the instructor can delete messages. The instructor can also create a new forum that may be used for specific topics or by a selected group of students. The default forum available to all students in the class is Main.

WebCT MailWebCT Mail

The WebCT Mail tool allows the students and the instructor to send private messages to each other. This email is separate from regular Internet email. Anyone in the class may send a message to anyone else in the class. A message may even be sent to more than one person at one time. You may also include attached files with your messages. Anyone receiving a message can then send a reply to that message. Messages may also be saved in folders for future reference.
